The bust didn’t just net one suspect. Four people are now in custody following a multi-agency narcotics investigation in Fulton County.
Law enforcement officials identified Tristin Shell, 18, of Rochester as the primary target. Investigators allege Shell purchased significant amounts of illegal narcotics through dark web marketplaces. He then distributed these drugs throughout Fulton County.
Major Drug Seizure at Rochester Home
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a Rochester residence as the investigation reached its peak. Officers discovered a substantial drug operation inside the home.
Authorities recovered approximately 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine during the raid. That wasn’t all they found. The search also turned up various other illegal substances and items.
Officers seized prescription pills, suspected psilocybin mushrooms, and marijuana. They also confiscated drug paraphernalia linked to the distribution operation. The variety of substances suggests a broad drug-dealing enterprise.
These types of operations aren’t limited to small towns; a recent global investigation uncovered three Swedish nationals who had been running a major darknet drug network from luxury villas in Thailand, supplying narcotics across Europe and highlighting the international scope of dark web drug trafficking.
Shell now faces seven criminal charges ranging from felonies to misdemeanors. The most serious charge is Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony. He also faces Possession of Methamphetamine as a Level 3 Felony.
Additional charges include Dealing a Controlled Substance (Level 4 Felony) and Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony). The remaining charges are Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C Misdemeanor).
Three Others Face Charges in Connection
Shell wasn’t the only person arrested. Three other individuals connected to the investigation also face charges.
April Lockridge, 38, was arrested on charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Authorities also took 50-year-old Lynden Swanson into custody. Swanson faces preliminary charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Heather Shell, 44, was also arrested for maintaining a Common Nuisance. The connection between these individuals and the primary suspect remains part of the ongoing investigation.
Multi-Agency Effort Targets Drug Distribution
This operation showcases the power of collaboration between law enforcement agencies. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office didn’t work alone on this case.
The Indiana State Police joined the investigation. The Marshall County Drug Task Force and the Rochester Police Department also contributed their resources and expertise. This coordinated approach proved essential to the operation’s success.
Fulton County Sheriff Travis W. Heishman addressed the arrests in a public statement. Heishman said,
“This case highlights the ongoing efforts of our agency and our law enforcement partners to combat the distribution of dangerous drugs in our community.”
He added,
“We remain dedicated to fishing out and holding responsible those who introduce illicit substances to Fulton.”
The sheriff’s comments underscore the seriousness with which local authorities treat drug trafficking. The dark web adds a new dimension to these crimes. It allows dealers to purchase drugs anonymously and in bulk quantities.
